WHY HOLD YOUR WEDDING AT ST GWENFAEN’S ?
With one of the best positions of any church in Anglesey, St Gwenfaen’s, Rhoscolyn, is very popular for weddings. The views are wonderful – over the sea to the mountains – offering the opportunity for memorable photographs of your special day.
A small picturesque Grade 2 listed church, St Gwenfaen’s can seat 100 visitors, with a few extra seats possible by using the choir stalls. The church has been lovingly restored during the last few years and lends itself to decoration for a country wedding.
There is room outside the church for parking approximately 10 cars, but additional parking space can usually be arranged in a nearby field.
While it is possible to have only your ceremony at the church, why go to the trouble of moving yourselves and all your guests to somewhere distant for your reception, when there is a beautiful hall just down the road? St Gwenfaen’s Hall is within easy walking distance.
This fine hall, a really lovely example of an Arts and Crafts style building, has also been recently restored and many happy couples have found this to be the perfect venue for their reception. There is a large inside hall, smaller areas for coats etc, and large grounds in which a generously sized marquee can be erected if you want extra space. This can have a direct entrance to the main hall through French windows and there is an outside power supply. There is also room for a catering tent as well as a kitchen in the hall itself. We have lots of photographs taken of the hall dressed for weddings/special events. Some of these are posted on a Photo Gallery page.
